Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a Kafka, Redis or RabbitMQ Admin with cloud platform experience
• 6+ years of software engineering experience using Java/Scala or Golang
• 4+ years of distributed systems experience
• 3+ years of development and DevOps experience designing and operating large-scale deployments of distributed NoSQL and messaging systems
• 1+ year leading a NoSQL technology related product from conception to deployment and maintenance
• Experience developing distributed system software that performs well and degrades gracefully under load
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, Cassandra, or similar technologies
• Experience learning complex open source service internals via code inspection
• Familiarity with modern software development tools including CI/CD and Agile methodologies
• Expertise with configuration management using Chef and deploying services on Kubernetes via Helm and ArgoCD
• Experience with Linux system internals and tuning
• Distributed system performance analysis and optimization skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills to explain complex technical details clearly

Nice to Haves

• Experience supporting EU Sovereign Cloud (EU-SOV) or other regulated cloud environments
• Operating production workloads in sovereign, government, or regulated cloud environments
• Managing Kafka, Redis, and RabbitMQ with strict data residency, compliance, and security requirements
• Implementing platform security controls including IAM, RBAC, TLS, encryption, certificate, and secrets management
• Supporting compliance initiatives such as GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar frameworks
• Collaborating with Security, Compliance, and Infrastructure teams for audits and operational compliance
• Supporting disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational resilience for critical distributed platforms

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, build, and enhance critical distributed services including Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ
• Develop, deploy, and maintain core distributed services using open source and proprietary stacks across Kubernetes, OpenStack, Bare Metal, and more
• Create core software modules for streaming, messaging, and caching
• Construct observability modules, alerts, and automation for dashboard lifecycle management
• Build, deploy, and operate infrastructure components in production environments
• Champion streaming, messaging, and caching with a focus on resiliency and operational excellence
• Evaluate and implement new open-source and cloud-native tools and technologies
• Participate in on-call rotation supporting distributed systems platforms
• Manage and optimize distributed services across AWS, GCP, and private cloud environments
