Requirements

5+ years of experience as a Kafka, Redis or RabbitMQ Admin with cloud platform experience
5+ years of software engineering experience using Java/Scala or Golang
4+ years of distributed systems experience
3+ years of development and DevOps experience designing and operating large-scale deployments of distributed NoSQL & messaging systems
1+ year of leading a NoSQL technology related product from conception to deployment and maintenance

Track record of technical project leadership involving collaborators across the enterprise
Expertise developing distributed system software that performs well and degrades gracefully under load
Hands-on experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, Cassandra
Ability to learn complex open source service internals via code inspection
Experience with CI/CD, Agile methodologies
Expertise with Chef, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD
Experience with Linux system internals, tuning, performance analysis, and optimization
Strong communication skills to explain technical details clearly
Experience with EU Sovereign Cloud (EU-SOV) or other regulated cloud environments
Operating production workloads in regulated cloud environments
Managing Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ with strict data residency, compliance, and security requirements
Implementing platform security controls: IAM, RBAC, TLS, encryption, certificate and secrets management
Supporting compliance initiatives such as GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2
Collaborating with Security, Compliance, and Infrastructure teams for audits and operational compliance
Supporting disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational resilience for distributed platforms

Design, build, and enhance critical distributed services including Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ
Develop, deploy, and maintain core distributed services using open source and proprietary stacks across Kubernetes, OpenStack, Bare Metal, etc.
Design and develop core software modules for streaming, messaging, and caching
Create observability modules, alerts, and automation for dashboard lifecycle management
Build, deploy, and operate infrastructure components in production environments
Champion resilience and operational excellence of streaming, messaging, and caching services
Evaluate and implement new open-source and cloud-native tools and technologies
Participate in on-call rotations to support distributed systems platforms
Manage and optimize Workday distributed services in AWS, GCP, and Private cloud environments
