What you'll be doing

Hire the right people, focusing on growing teams in Spain and Poland.
Build and maintain a high standard and positive team culture.
Define the technical direction, long-term roadmap, and strategic initiatives for the Cards product.
Lead by example in using AI to accelerate development and innovate workflows.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Affirm to ensure technical excellence aligned with business goals.
Create and promote a strong ownership culture with high accountability for scalability and efficiency.
Mentor and lead a group of managers and engineers.
Participate in an on-call rotation as part of role responsibilities.

Requirements

10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years managing engineering teams and 2+ years managing managers.
Experience leading a multi-team engineering organization through multi-year technical strategy and translating ambiguous requirements into deliverables.
Technical depth to guide architecture, reliability, and quality decisions across multiple systems while empowering tech leads and architects.
Ability to make investment and prioritization decisions in uncertain situations and adjust course based on new evidence.
Strong communication skills to explain strategy, risks, and tradeoffs to engineers, cross-functional partners, and executives.
Track record of growing managers into senior leaders and building diverse, merit-based inclusive teams.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
