Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
• 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling)
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Experience leading embedded software or firmware development for connected consumer devices

Nice to Haves

• Experience in hiring, developing and promoting engineering talent
• Experience managing release trains and OTA rollouts for shipped consumer electronics and sustaining multiple product lines
• Experience with battery-powered, Wi-Fi/BLE camera or video devices and related quality metrics
• Experience adopting generative AI developer tooling in team workflows and measuring impact
• Experience working with distributed hardware, operations, and QA partners across time zones

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading a team of ~12 firmware engineers developing embedded software for Ring and Blink cameras and doorbells
• Owning the release train: scope, schedule, OTA rollout decisions, rollback calls, and quality metrics monitoring
• Driving convergence of device firmware onto a common platform and codebase, and handing over launched products to sustaining
• Driving AI-native engineering adoption including coding agents and AI review tooling, setting targets, and reporting progress
• Hiring, developing, and retaining engineers with regular 1:1s and growth conversations
• Partnering with product, TPM, QA, cloud, and hardware teams in Poland and the US
• Reporting development, quality, operations, and system performance status to senior leadership
• Maintaining and enhancing software frameworks for development
