Requirements

Knowledgeable in video compression and multimedia, including 3D visual information coding.
Good knowledge of developing international standards, especially video/multimedia compression.
Experience with sophisticated video compression technologies such as MPEG-4 AVC, HEVC, VVC, AV1, and AV2.
Ability to develop, analyze, propose, and refine new algorithms and techniques.
Experience with multimedia specifications from AOM, ISO, ITU, SMPTE, etc.
Familiarity with software development tools including Xcode and Git.
Proficient in software development and capable of contributing to large codebases (C, C++).
Excellent writing, speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Engage with standards organizations such as AOM, ITU, MPEG, and 3GPP.
Provide clear positions on ongoing standards and refine work in progress.
Propose and drive completion of Apple’s initiatives in multimedia standards.
Represent Apple at standardization meetings and calls, integrating community feedback.
Contribute to the development of new 2D and 3D multimedia standards.
