Optical Network Engineer, Border Network Engineering

Requirements

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
• 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience

Nice to Haves

• 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and deploy optical network solutions that support data center connectivity and scalability across AWS global infrastructure
• Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to evaluate new optical hardware and software capabilities, and develop comprehensive implementation plans for network integration
• Develop and automate optical testing procedures to qualify optical modules and ensure they meet performance and reliability standards
• Partner with network operations teams to identify operational issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement improvements to quality and return merchandise authorization processes
• Create and maintain technical documentation that clearly communicates network designs, test results, and operational procedures to support team knowledge and best practices
