Requirements

Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
Experience leading the architecture and design of new and current systems including architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling
Professional software development experience (non-internship)
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Recent development experience within the last 3 years

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience with full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

Design and implement highly available, horizontally scalable distributed systems with strict durability and latency guarantees
Own the technical design of large features and multi-quarter initiatives, breaking down ambiguous problems into deliverable plans
Solve complex distributed-systems challenges involving replication, consistency, partitioning, reliability, security, and performance at massive scale
Drive operational excellence by defining best practices, improving observability, and eliminating root causes of operational issues
Participate in on-call rotation to support service reliability
Perform data analysis to identify optimization opportunities for performance and cost
Lead design and code reviews and establish technical best practices for the team
Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and pair programming
Stay current with new technologies and introduce them when appropriate
