What you'll be doing

Own mission-critical services end-to-end including design, implementation, deployment, and operations for global, high-throughput, low-latency distributed pricing services.
Partner with business teams to align technology solutions with business outcomes and financial goals.
Analyze complex problems, break them into manageable milestones, and deliver sustainable technical solutions collaboratively.
Participate in architecture reviews, write thorough technical documentation, and conduct detailed code reviews.
Test and maintain software applications using various development tools following customer design requirements.
Research and recommend frameworks, architectural patterns, and identify areas for code improvement with suggested solutions.
Advocate for operational excellence, including unit testing, SLAs, resiliency, scalability, and applying systems thinking for organizational efficiency.
Mentor team members to foster continuous technical growth and collaboration across teams.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 5+ years of professional software development experience, or Master’s Degree with 4+ years post-degree experience.
Hands-on experience in software development with Java or similar object-oriented languages, or Scala or Kotlin or similar functional languages.
Proven experience building and operating scalable distributed systems and services in AWS cloud or similar infrastructure.
Experience mentoring at least 3 individuals and driving technical design end-to-end for at least 3 projects.
Ability to identify business problems and design testable and observable solutions at project and team levels.
Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data structures, API patterns, and service-oriented architectures.
Capability to establish operational excellence metrics and advocate for project quality via testing, monitoring, and alerting.
Strong practical experience developing robust caching solutions using Redis, Couchbase, Memcached, or similar distributed caching tools.
Experience working in Agile teams of 5+ engineers with knowledge of modern agile methodologies, version control, CI/CD practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to thrive and collaborate in a globally distributed team environment.

Experience with low-latency, high-throughput processing microservices handling over 1 million transactions per second.
Proficiency in safely integrating AI/ML-enabled solutions in backend systems and leveraging AI-driven tools to enhance product outcomes.
