What you'll be doing

• Design and build public-facing APIs for Wise Platform and partners that are intuitive, consistent, and easy to use
• Own and drive technical roadmaps at squad/tribe level, addressing technical debt, reliability, scalability, and security linked to product roadmap
• Architect highly robust and scalable microservices using event-driven design patterns
• Influence product roadmapping and strategy in collaboration with product management and cross-functional teams
• Lead impactful problems within team and cross-team initiatives, unlocking new features and value for partners
• Mentor and influence engineers and leads through code reviews and best practices, raising technical excellence

Requirements

• Strong foundation in modern Java or other JVM-based languages and experience with the Spring framework
• Commitment to writing clean, testable, and highly performant code
• Deep experience building and operating microservices with solid understanding of event-driven architecture, distributed systems, and concurrency patterns
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems, including designing and owning scalable event pipelines
• Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases, including query optimization, schema design, and data lifecycle management for sensitive information
• Product-oriented mindset prioritizing customer needs and data-driven decision making
• Experience leading cross-team and interdisciplinary initiatives
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and facilitate clear decisions
