Requirements

• Many years in infrastructure, platform, SRE or DevOps roles running high-traffic, distributed systems in production
• Experience operating at Principal or Staff scope, setting direction across teams as well as delivering
• In-depth knowledge running Kubernetes in production for real workloads, ideally EKS
• Strong understanding of what happens during Kubernetes deployments and debugging issues
• Awareness of PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Kafka behavior under load and failure modes
• Strong AWS knowledge and fluency with Terraform
• Coding experience in Go or Python is a plus
• Doc-first communication habit and ability to bring distributed product teams together
• Strong ideas on how infrastructure should support AI automation impacts on development and delivery

Nice to Haves

• Experience hardening infrastructure for high-compliance or security-sensitive environments (HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI)
• Managing AWS data services at scale, including migrations and version upgrades (RDS, Aurora, MSK, DynamoDB)
• Scaling consumer platforms with millions of concurrent users
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, CKA, or CKS

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing and running Kubernetes and data infrastructure to support 80 million monthly active users
• Architecting and evolving EKS clusters including lifecycle, upgrades, networking, autoscaling, and workload isolation
• Shaping data infrastructure use of PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Kafka with patterns for provisioning, backup, failover, and capacity
• Building self-service tooling and Terraform modules for product team autonomy while maintaining stability and security
• Leading resilience efforts including business continuity planning, disaster recovery testing, and on-call rotation management
• Supporting infrastructure behind privacy features and maintaining SOC2, ISO 27001, and ISO 27701 certifications
• Ensuring observability through metrics, logs, and traces to detect issues before users do
