Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, building and operating platform-level or developer-facing systems
• Strong hands-on skills in TypeScript and Go, with good judgment on their use
• Solid foundations in distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native deployment (e.g., Kubernetes)
• Practical experience with LLMs in production, including prompt and tool orchestration, retrieval, and agent loops
• Measurement mindset with experience building or running evaluation pipelines, tracing, or monitoring systems
• Strong communication skills to lead technically, influence decisions, and mentor others

Nice to Haves

• Experience with LLM observability or evaluation tooling such as Datadog LLM Observability, LangSmith, or OpenTelemetry-based tracing
• Familiarity with agent protocols and frameworks like MCP, and building SDKs or CLIs adopted by developers
• Background in security, guardrails, or policy enforcement for AI systems including prompt injection defense, PII handling, and permissioning
• Prior work on internal platform or DevEx teams with a focus on adoption and developer satisfaction

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and building core features and tooling of GetYourGuide's internal Agent Platform, Midnight Clue
• Owning the evaluation and observability layer, including tracing, quality metrics, and feedback loops for agent performance
• Shaping the end-to-end user experience from context definition to testing, monitoring, and optimizing agentic workflows with built-in guardrails
• Driving architectural decisions, writing RFCs, and collaborating with infrastructure and application teams
• Raising the team’s quality through code reviews, mentoring, pairing, and acting as a technical authority on agent development
