Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• At least 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience in software system architecture.

Nice to Haves

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience building, designing, and scaling large-scale backend services with a history of technical innovation and solving complex problems.
• Proficiency in Go or another backend language, and SQL with experience in data modeling for analytics.
• Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), AI agents, or AI developer tools, and experience leveraging AI to enhance engineering productivity.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing, building, and operating reliable high-throughput backend services and data pipelines in Go and SQL to capture telemetry from Google's AI developer tools across APIs.
• Leading technical projects end to end, including design, cross-team alignment, implementation, launch, and maintaining production health.
• Defining telemetry schemas and data contracts, and creating metrics, dashboards, and datasets for product and leadership teams.
• Owning a core technical area of the platform by setting technical direction, reviewing designs and code, and improving reliability, cost, and maintainability.
• Mentoring other engineers and promoting high engineering standards including the use of AI agents to automate operational work.
