Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, Go, etc., or 1 year with an advanced degree.

Nice to haves

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• Expertise in data processing, distributed systems, or database internals.
• Experience with BigQuery, query engines, or other data warehousing technologies.

What you'll be doing

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to choose technologies.
• Expand BigQuery's capabilities, attract new customers, and support next-generation AI workloads.
• Collaborate with core BigQuery teams and other foundational database teams like Cloud Spanner, Cloud SQL, and AlloyDB.
• Solve complex problems involving distributed systems, query optimization, compute pushdowns, security, and large-scale data integration.
