Requirements

5+ years of professional software development experience
Extensive experience deploying and operating microservices in a cloud environment
Good understanding of scalability and observability practices
Proficient in Java; familiarity with Python, Scala, or PHP is a plus
Skilled in designing and developing APIs
Proficient with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
Experience working with message queues and/or streaming data systems like Kafka or PubSub
Experience deploying and operating microservices on Kubernetes
Technical expert who can provide guidance on best practices, coding standards, and complex technical issues
Experience mentoring and coaching engineers and providing technical feedback
Proficiency in spoken and written English

Nice to Haves

Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Azure

Lead design and implementation efforts for new platform components from the ground up
Design and implement scalable services with focus on reliability, observability, operability, and efficiency
Collaborate with partner teams and domain architects on system design and service integration
Work with cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, BigTable, and Istio
Help set platform vision and define feature roadmaps
Mentor other engineers and contribute to team growth and development
Strengthen engineering processes, principles, and culture, championing learning, continuous improvement, and blameless retrospection
Leverage an AI-first approach to make faster, smarter decisions with greater impact
