Requirements

• 5 years of experience with Android application development.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in complex, matrixed organizations involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
• Experience with modern Android development technologies such as Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Material Design.

• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
• Leverage AI development tools to optimize daily workflows.
• Manage a technical team of engineers while dedicating approximately 50% of time to individual contributor work.
• Drive technical strategy to integrate Google Search seamlessly into the Android ecosystem.
• Lead evolution of OS-level entry points to create cohesive access systems tightly integrated with Android launcher.
• Pioneer proactive assistance using native surfaces like lockscreen and widgets to anticipate user needs.
• Collaborate closely with Product, UX, and cross-functional teams to embed Search into Android’s fabric.
