Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of full stack development experience: back-end (Java, Python, Golang, C++) and front-end (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent).

Nice to Haves

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience integrating generative AI tools or large language model interfaces into workflows.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, build, and launch end-to-end generative AI and agentic capabilities for YouTube Shopping Search.
• Develop LLM prompts, modular skills, tool integrations with live product catalogs and affiliate offers, and interactive shopping UI components.
• Improve retrieval, ranking, and personalization of shopping results tailored to user preferences across YouTube Search and Ask YouTube.
• Build evaluation pipelines including LLM autoraters and run live A/B experiments to optimize answer quality, factuality, latency, and shopping metrics.
• Collaborate with engineers, team leads, product managers, and UX designers across multiple teams to deliver features from prototyping to global production launch.
• Design and launch AI shopping experiences like product comparisons, shoppable video treatments, and seamless Search-to-Watch handoffs.
