Senior Python Engineer - Real- Time Data

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering with Java or Python as your primary language
• Proficient on Linux platforms and strong understanding of Git
• Deep knowledge of one or more relevant database technologies such as Iceberg, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
• Embracing agentic engineering — willingness and ability to work effectively with AI-assisted development tools as part of daily workflow
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to work independently and gather requirements from stakeholders

Nice to Haves

• Strong academic record and a degree with high mathematical and computing content e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Physics
• Familiarity with distributed systems and orchestration
• Experience with performance optimization and large-scale data processing
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Experience with market data
• Expertise in streaming or real-time data processing

What You'll Be Doing

• Build and ship features on a high-throughput streaming platform processing billions of market data points daily
• Tackle hard distributed systems problems at a scale few engineers encounter
• Work closely with quant researchers and traders to turn complex requirements into elegant platform solutions
• Drive platform reliability through rigorous incident response, root-cause analysis, and systemic fixes
• Raise the engineering bar through thoughtful code review and mentoring of junior team members
