Critical Infrastructure Engineering Lead

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years in critical facilities engineering, commissioning, data center operations, or technical assurance in high-availability environments.
  • Strong practical knowledge of critical electrical infrastructure including UPS, generators, MV/LV distribution, switchgear, and protection systems, as well as mechanical systems like cooling plant, pumps, controls, and heat rejection.
  • Ability to review single-line diagrams, operating sequences, technical procedures, maintenance plans, commissioning evidence, and root-cause analyses.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure incidents and influencing external technical teams without direct line authority.
  • Clear written and verbal English communication skills, sound judgment under pressure, and willingness to travel and participate in incident escalation as needed.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in full technical governance, multi-site operations, or mission-critical facilities serving high-density AI/HPC workloads.
  • Experience with direct-to-chip liquid cooling, coolant distribution units (CDUs), facility/technology cooling interfaces, water quality, leak detection, and rack-level thermal management.
  • Familiarity with integrated systems testing, EPMS/BMS trend analysis, protection coordination, failure-mode reviews, and cross-site engineering standardization.
  • Experience partnering with hardware OEMs, design engineers, commissioning teams, and infrastructure providers during live-site expansion.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Serve as senior technical authority for electrical, mechanical, and life-safety infrastructure at colocation sites to protect AI compute availability by identifying technical risks early and verifying system performance.
  • Own and maintain the site technical risk register, assessing resilience of electrical and mechanical systems and reviewing preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Critically review high-risk procedures, technical documentation, and use monitoring systems to detect abnormal conditions before service impact.
  • Act as senior engineering escalation point during major infrastructure incidents, coordinating information and ensuring effective incident response and recovery.
  • Review root-cause analyses, define corrective actions, identify systemic trends, and support emergency response planning and exercises.
  • Participate in design reviews, commissioning plans, and change control for expansions and new AI deployments, ensuring operational and resilience requirements are met.
  • Provide technical coaching, contribute to engineering standards, and support recruitment and knowledge sharing as the portfolio expands.

Perks and Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package supporting well-being, growth, and work-life balance.
  • Benefits vary by country and may include healthcare coverage, parental leave, retirement plans, relocation support, wellness programs, meal and transportation allowances, and other location-specific perks.
