System Software Engineer, Cloud (C++/Python)

Requirements

• Solid basis in software engineering foundation building and maintaining backend or system-level components in production
• Strong programming skills in C++ or Python and a willingness to pick up new languages, tools, and frameworks as needed
• End-to-end ownership mindset – from design and implementation through tests, CI pipelines, deployment, monitoring, and iterative hardening in production
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, including working with complex logs, CI failures, and issues that cross service boundaries, APIs, and cloud components
• Curiosity and a growth mindset – you want to understand how things really work (storage, networking, cloud infrastructure) and you share that knowledge with others
• Collaborative way of working – you communicate clearly, give and receive feedback well, and are comfortable working with distributed teams (Prague, US, and cross-functional partners)
• Experience building or operating products in the public cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus, especially around reliability, performance, or cost optimization

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Linux, multi-threaded or performance-sensitive code, or CI/CD automation

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, implement, and review new features in the Everpure Cloud Dedicated data path, primarily in C++ and/or Python, running on AWS and Azure
• Improve the resiliency, performance, and cost efficiency of our cloud storage stack (failover behavior, HA, capacity expansion, data reduction, cloud-specific optimizations)
• Participate in our triage rotation: analyze failures from CI pipelines and automated tests, debug issues on CBS testbeds, and drive fixes into the codebase
• Lead or co-lead the investigation of product issues in customer environments, from initial escalation through root-cause analysis and long-term fixes
• Collaborate closely with Prague and US teams (data-plane, control-plane, QE, Support, Product Management, Solution Architects) to align on designs, rollouts, and operational best practices
• Contribute to and maintain technical documentation and runbooks so that other engineers, support, and field teams can operate the product with confidence
• We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Prague office in compliance with Everpure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave
