Requirements

5+ years in software engineering focusing on data platforms or distributed systems, with technical leadership across multiple teams
Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or other object-oriented languages
Strong hands-on expertise with Apache Spark and Apache Iceberg (or similar technologies)
Experience with streaming infrastructure such as Apache Kafka or Apache Pulsar and cloud-native data platforms on AWS
Experience building internal platforms and developer-facing abstractions, with a strong user-centric mindset

Nice to Haves

Experience with Databricks or similar platforms, with an understanding of underlying technologies

Lead delivery of significant data platform capabilities from design to production rollout across multiple teams
Work hands-on with Kotlin/Java, Spark, Iceberg, and streaming infrastructure to diagnose performance issues and write exemplary code
Design flexible systems anticipating future requirement changes, thoroughly exploring problems before settling on solutions
Evolve platform APIs to enable self-service adoption and ease-of-use for engineers company-wide
Drive improvements in platform quality, reliability, and observability
Mentor engineers and elevate engineering practices organization-wide
Utilize AI tooling as a force multiplier and help teammates do the same
