Linux experience - comfortable operating and scripting on Linux.
Strong grasp of OOP, design patterns, concurrency, and data structures and algorithms.
Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP).
Experience with virtualization — QEMU/KVM, libvirt, VMware, Hyper-V, or Xen equivalents.
Well-versed with the full SDLC and able to produce well-tested, high-quality code.
Experience running bare-metal fleets or datacenter infrastructure at scale.
CI/CD and test infrastructure (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and how large test suites run at scale.
Familiarity with libvirt, cloud-init, PXE / network booting, and VM image pipelines; networking (VLANs, overlays, SDN).
Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible), Kubernetes, and distributed storage (Ceph, ZFS).
Develop tooling that empowers engineering teams to consume datacenter compute as easily as a managed cloud service.
Build services that provision, configure, and lifecycle-manage virtual machines on bare metal using virtualization technologies.
Provide the compute backbone for pipeline runs, end-to-end and automated testing at scale.
Expose our datacenter capacity as a single elastic fabric that internal workloads can schedule against on demand.
Automate the full host lifecycle as code; bring-up, hypervisor configuration, networking, storage, and decommissioning.
Improve the reliability, observability, and performance of the virtualization layer, and harden it for security and scale.
Contribute to centralized initiatives such as Automated Sign-Off and performance testing, helping teams validate and ship releases with confidence.
Build and maintain tooling that standardizes software development practices across engineering teams.
