Software Engineer, Compute

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with Golang strongly preferred.
• Deep experience with virtual machines, file systems, and Linux.
• Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Experience with schedulers and orchestrators for managing containers and non-containerized workloads.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

What you'll be doing:

• Manage and improve the fleet of clusters and instances deployed in every region.
• Write Golang code daily and use Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
• Rethink the primitives of the infrastructure, working with virtual filesystems and Linux primitives.
• Own the reliability and performance of the compute platform.
• Collaborate across teams to drive the convergence of all compute at Vercel.

Nice to haves:

• Worked on low-level virtualization or sandbox execution environments.
• Product engineering experience and concern for developer-facing impact of infrastructure decisions.
• Experience with on-call operations for large-scale distributed systems.
