Software Engineer Salary in Poland (2026)
All posts | Apr 8, 2026 | Felix GerschauGoogle Warsaw pays senior engineers upwards of €90,000–€120,000 TC — roughly 2–3× the Polish national median. Poland's market is defined by a small cluster of international companies paying Western European rates, and a broad domestic market where €35,000–€45,000 TC is the norm. The B2B contract fundamentally changes how much of your gross you keep.

How Poland compares to the rest of Europe
Poland's median TC of €35,000–€45,000 sits well below Germany (€81,495) and the Netherlands (€89,987). Warsaw cost of living is 50–60% lower than Amsterdam, partially closing the gap in purchasing power.
B2B vs employment (UoP)
The single most important factor in Polish software engineer compensation.
UoP (umowa o pracę): Standard employment. ZUS ~20% of gross, income tax 12% up to 120K PLN then 32%. Take-home ~60–65% of gross. 26 days paid leave, strong protections.
B2B (kontrakt): Self-employment. 19% flat or ryczałt 12% on IT revenue. Fixed ZUS (~1,600–1,800 PLN/month). Nets 15–25% more than UoP on same gross. No paid leave, no severance. Most senior engineers at international companies choose B2B.
Which companies actually pay the most

What level do you need to hit €100K in Poland
Only at Google, Snowflake, or Databricks at senior level (L5+). On B2B, ~€115K–€120K gross to net €100K. On UoP, ~€140K–€150K gross. See Poland €100K companies guide.
Base vs total comp — what to negotiate
Domestic market: base-salary only. International companies: RSUs can be 20–40% of TC. Key negotiation point: the contract type itself. B2B on the same gross is a 15–25% net raise.
