Software Development Engineer - Elasticache, AWS ElastiCache

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
• Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles

Nice to Haves

• Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Experience programming with C, C++ or Rust

What You'll Be Doing

• Work with in-memory database technologies including Valkey, Redis OSS, and Memcached
• Build next-generation technologies focusing on horizontal and vertical scaling, data replication, data sharding, migration algorithms, and authentication/authorization protocols
• Collaborate with the Valkey OSS community to influence and contribute new features and performance optimizations
• Participate in weekly investigations of operational gaps and proactive root-causing of issues
• Support on-boarding buddies and mentorship for new team members
• Engage in knowledge sharing through team-wide design reviews
