Requirements

Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience in engineering team management
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

Nice to Haves

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
Travel up to 20% of the time
Experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware, or experience in computer architecture
Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Build and manage a team of software engineers (from new grads to senior engineers) by hiring, coaching, and promoting
Set high engineering standards and operational excellence for the team, and help them deliver incremental value to customers by administering agile development process
Effectively communicate within your team, with your peers, with senior leaders and with stakeholders
Work with other teams and team members to break down complex challenges, iterate on designs, estimate engineering efforts, and create work-back schedules
Lead a team of engineers building software that directly supports internal deployment teams and data center operations teams across Amazon's global infrastructure
