Requirements

A curious mindset and ability to continuously improve the Technology function
Engineering leader capable of solving high-level problems and hands-on technical challenges
Strong technical documentation skills
Strong communication skills
Experience in at least one major programming language (e.g. Python, Ruby, Java)
Strong fundamentals in programming (data structures, algorithms)
Familiarity with developing on Unix/Linux
Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, BDD, TDD, and CI/CD
Experience delivering mission-critical, high-value products and services
Passion for and proven experience applying emerging technologies, particularly Generative AI, to solve complex engineering challenges and drive transformational change

What you'll be doing

Collaborate with product leadership to understand business goals and shape technical direction
Translate goals into system and data architecture with clear milestones
Write clear and thorough technical designs and standards
Drive continuous improvement with high standards and take others on this journey
Identify and leverage Generative AI tools to innovate and transform engineering processes
Coach Lead Engineers through feedback, mentorship, and role modeling
Perform deep-dives and troubleshoot issues hands-on while enabling teams
Present technology solutions, risks, and tradeoffs to diverse stakeholders and influence without authority
Take accountability for high-level solution design and technology decisions
Understand commercial impact of technology and connect work to customer outcomes
Represent Funding Circle externally, share industry insights, and attract talent
