What you'll be doing

• Design, develop and implement systems, services, and solutions to improve security, reliability, scalability, and availability in domains such as Service Mesh, Internal Networking, Partner Connectivity, Secrets Management, and Service Discovery
• Take ownership of the service mesh and its underlying network stack to ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Create monitors and alerts to ensure availability and diagnose and resolve issues related to the service mesh
• Collaborate with other teams to support critical new features delivery
• Stay current with industry trends and new technology developments in service mesh
• Identify and automate repetitive tasks
• Monitor system health and participate in on-call rotations

Requirements

• Professional experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) or DevOps engineer
• Hands-on, production experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Knowledge of Go and/or Python programming languages
• Broad understanding of Linux systems and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, etc.)
• Expertise in container virtualization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with service mesh implementations, especially Istio
• Performance monitoring and incident analysis skills
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Vault, Consul, and Salt/Ansible
• Proactive attitude with the ability to work autonomously
• Desire to continuously learn and improve systems

• Knowledge of VPNs and/or hands-on experience with their implementation
