Head of Networks

Requirements

• Experience leading a network function through team leads or managers.
• Strong knowledge of complex, low-latency network environments.
• Strong delivery, resource, risk, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience building consistent operating practices across multiple teams and sites.
• Ability to develop technical leaders and reduce reliance on individual knowledge.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and develop Network Team Leads, setting clear strategy and priorities, ownership, and escalation paths.
• Establish consistent ways of working across the network function, supporting clear leadership and predictable delivery.
• Balance project delivery, operational work, technical debt, and improvement initiatives, ensuring work remains aligned with business priorities.
• Act as the senior escalation point for people, delivery, and operational issues.
• Ensure agreed architecture, standards, documentation, and handover practices are followed across teams.
• Provide senior Infrastructure and Project Management stakeholders with clear feedback on risks, dependencies, capacity, delivery confidence, and technical debt.
• Ensure risks are identified and raised early, with clear ownership and appropriate mitigation plans.
• Represent Networks in business, infrastructure, and project planning.
