What You'll Be Doing

• Leading technical design of large projects by breaking down ambiguous problems and making decisions
• Building complex, reliable, secure, and API-first backend solutions within a micro-services architecture
• Owning production systems including availability, reliability, security, on-call duties, incident response, and tech debt management
• Mentoring engineers, onboarding new team members, spreading knowledge, and contributing to hiring
• Shaping the product roadmap with close collaboration across product, design, analytics, and operations
• Working backend-focused and AI-first across Wise to redefine UX, reshape architecture, and fix foundational issues
