Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a PhD degree in Computer Science or a related technical field in the EMEA region, and in your penultimate/final year of education.
• Experience working with data structures and algorithms during coursework/projects, research, internships, or practical experience in school or work (e.g., open-source coding).
• Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python, JavaScript, Go, etc.).

Nice to haves:

• Relevant practical or internship experience with programming in C++, Java, Python, or Go.
• Research experience in various technical fields like algorithms, architecture, artificial intelligence, compilers, etc.
• Experience with web application development, Unix/Linux, mobile application development, machine learning, networking, etc.
• Ability to complete a 13-17 week full-time internship in the UK starting in either May, June or July 2027.

What you'll be doing:

• Research, conceive and develop software applications to extend and improve on Google's product offering.
• Contribute to a wide variety of projects using technologies such as natural language processing, artificial intelligence, data compression, machine learning, etc.
• Collaborate on scalability issues involving access to data and information.
• Utilize exposure to large-scale production software troubleshooting.
• Help maintain mission critical services.
