What You'll Be Doing

Build and run backend services and data pipelines that ingest, validate, and process music deliveries from partners, including audio, metadata, lyrics, and new content types
Own large parts of the ingestion pipeline and lead technical work for adding video, richer partner data, and other new content
Enhance ingestion reliability, catch data quality problems early, and improve operational tooling around the pipeline
Design and evolve APIs and schemas, ensuring stable and backward-compatible contracts for dependent teams
Move validation towards real-time processing and make Silk Road a well-documented, self-serve platform
Participate in delivering roadmap work, planning, code review, and on-call rotations
Collaborate with Content Ops, operations tooling teams, partner teams, and product teams utilizing the content

Requirements

Strong experience building and operating backend services and data pipelines in production at scale, ideally using Java, Scala, or Go
Experience designing APIs and managing schema evolution with backward compatibility in multi-team environments
Proficiency in data modeling for auditability, versioning, and efficient querying, with an understanding of real-time versus batch processing trade-offs
Ability to lead projects from discovery to handover, make sound technical decisions, and mentor others
Experience working with content ingestion, metadata standards like DDEX, B2B partner integrations, rights or compliance-sensitive data, lyrics or time-synced data, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
