What You'll Be Doing

Lead multi-week ML initiatives end to end, translating business requirements to technical specifications, shipping models, and measuring impact on subscriber metrics
Own components of ML systems, making independent trade-offs while ensuring observability, reliability, and documentation
Collaborate with a multi-functional agile team including user research, design, data science, product management, and engineering
Prototype new approaches and productionize solutions at scale for hundreds of millions of active users
Drive optimization, testing, and tooling to improve quality
Unblock and share context with teammates to increase squad velocity
Use AI-assisted engineering to speed up development while ensuring high quality
Partner closely with senior and staff ML engineers and participate in machine learning practitioner groups

Requirements

Experience building and shipping production ML systems
Strong background in machine learning theory and practice
Ability to explain ML concepts including intuition and assumptions
Capable of owning well-scoped ML projects end to end and making independent technical decisions
Clear communication with stakeholders, explaining technical choices
Curious, open to feedback, and eager to grow scope over time
Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining ML systems in Python, Scala, or similar, including model development with PyTorch
Experience building data pipelines and self-sufficiency in data acquisition for model building and evaluation
Care about agile software processes, data development, reliability, and focused experimentation
Desire to drive business impact

Flexibility to work remotely within the EMEA region with a suitable work location
Team operates within Central European and GMT time zones for collaboration
